After a rain out early in the week, the Morgan County Middle School soccer Pups came up short in a 2-1 nail-biter against Oconee in Madison on Friday.
The team fell behind 2-0 early, but after a second half goal from Marty Cobb off an assist from Frank DuBose, the Pups found themselves back in the game.
"Overall, we are making strides towards improvement in a short period of time," said Pups Head Coach Mike House. "I am very pleased with our progression on defense and with our ball movement offensively."
House said he liked what he saw from his team with their second half offensive effort. The team spent the last 10 minutes of the game on the Oconee side of the field, but they weren't able to get a game-tying goal.
The team will try and pick ups some wins this week as they host Oglethorpe on Wednesday, March 26 and Athens Academy on Wednesday, April 2.
