April is upon us, and it’s sure coming in like a lion

By Mae Buice

Tuesday is April 1. Is it going to come in like a lamb? Or how much more cold weather are we going to have?
It being fifth Sunday and Youth Day the youth special was “Greater is He that is in me,” and they did their ever popular “The Walk.” Lou’s sermon was titled “Regeneration,” taking his message from 1st Peter 1:3, telling us that without His arising from the grave it would all have been in vain. Because He shed His blood we have eternal life and we accept. In order to sit upon the throne you will have to be regenerated. You have to go through a regeneration period. He made the way for you and me. He buried the old person and arose as a clean regenerated separate person. Some make a mockery, not turning themselves over to God. Come out and be a separate people. We as mortal people can be regenerated and a new people. He accepted me and He will do the same for you. Get regenerated in your heart so that you might lead others to Him. Once you are regenerated you are changed! We should desire this change.
What a glorious day amidst the dreariness was this Sabbath. We welcome into our church family Bobby Allen. Bobby has been attending since back in December. We promise him our love and fellowship.
Betty Walker recently celebrated her birthday with every member of her family present including out of towners, Dawn Walker and Jane Rountree. They all enjoyed a delicious meal at Granite Shoals Restaurant of all things to give a gold star, she said the collards were delicious. Maybe we’ll try them next time.
Mildred Lyle was not feeling well on Easter Sunday she received a visit from two little bunnies, Bailey and Olivia visited her, taking a basket of home made scented soaps.
Friday, April 4 there will be a gospel singing at the Crawfordville Auction Barn. The Southern Melody Boys will be singing with Cy Easter leading. Starts at 7 p.m.
Miss Nikki Higdon attended the Morgan County Military Ball last weekend. Her cousin Michael King escorted her in full dress uniform. Michael will be leaving for Iraq on April 7.
James and I attended the last Sunday singing services at Lake Oconee Baptist Chapel, which this time fell on the fifth Sunday where I was glad to be a part of the singing. Thanks for asking me and I surely received a blessing. This Sunday night they will have “Voices” in concert at 6 p.m.
Our donut fundraiser for the 12th has been canceled until a later date. Watch my column for information.
Happy belated birthday to Michael King who celebrated on the 30. Birthday blessings for Shondia Evans on April 8, Cindy Smith, Kerry Smith and Shera Mealor on the 10 and for Basil Weathers on the 11 and Nathan Lingerfelt on the 13.
Health Tip of the Week: Drink lots of water. It helps promote weight loss, combats cancer, conquers kidney stones, smoothes skin, plus it’s good for you. Without water we could not survive.
Until next week may the Lord bless you real good.
