Don’t forget our fourth Sunday “Singspiration” on the 24
By Mae Buice
A beautiful but windy day for our Mother’s Day service and I do hope that all you special mothers had a blessed day with your family and loved ones. Our services were opened with “Precious Memories”; flowers were presented to our oldest mother, youngest mother and the mother with the most children. Then a long stemmed rose was presented to each mother present. Lou took his short message from a very familiar scripture, Proverbs 31 with a reference to Proverbs 12:4. Mothers are a very special part of each person’s life. She has compassion in her heart the first moment her eyes gaze upon her baby. Lou read a beautiful poem dedicating it to his wife, mother and mother-in-law. Then everyone that chose to give a testimony about their mother. Overall it was a heart touching, some humor, good service. We had several visitors in the congregation, several visiting with their mother and we do welcome each of you.
Our hearts were saddened last week when we received the news of the passing of our dear friend, neighbor, former member, loved one, Dorothy Bumgarner. We knew she was very sick and had recently had a heart attack, but we were shocked that she left us so suddenly. But we do not question our God. He was ready for one m ore beautiful flower in his garden. To Virgil and the family, our love and Christian sympathy goes out to each of you at this sad time in your lives. We pray you will call upon us if you need us. Several from our church attended the funeral and also visited at the funeral home.
This coming Sunday the 18 will be Baby Dedication Day. We are making it convenient for you if this is not a good date there will be another dedication day on June 8. Also on June 1 we will recognize our high school seniors. Another date to remember will be Vacation Bible School beginning June 22 and the singing at Crawfordville Auction Barn will be June 6.
Don’t forget our fourth Sunday “Singspiration” on the 24. The Community Sing at Grace Bible Church will be the 22 at 7 p.m.
Happy birthday to Brandon Morris on the 14, Dylan Stewart on the 15, Jacob Harrington on the 18, James Vanwhy and Angella Smith on the 20.
