Brownwood’s “Annual God and Country Day" slated for Sunday, June 29
By Margie Ward
Since I wasn’t able to attend church Sunday morning Kittie Mayfield took notes for me. She reports a good attendance was present with several visitors. They are always a blessing to others by coming and we hope they received a blessing and felt God’s presence while there and will come back soon. The choir special was, “Lord, You’re Welcome.” Special music was “Master of the Wood,” by Peggy Harper. Bros. Ron’s message Philippians 1: 27, 3:20. Philippians is a book about joy and rejoicing. These two words and the word Gospel appears throughout this book. Paul talks about our own participation in the gospel. Let our motivation for rejoicing be that our names are written in the Lamb’s Book of Life. Paul’s expectation of the church, conduct ourselves in a manner worthy of the Gospel; our citizenship is in heaven. Christians should always strive together to resist the devil. Satan is against unity among God’s people. We must stand firm in our convictions together and resolve to never let conflict in the church divide us in our goals to preach the gospel. During the invitation Bryon and Lovie McGiboney came forward for membership. We welcome them and pray our church will always be here for them.
On Sunday night at 6 p.m. the Launch Night was held for the GROW program. Finger food was served in the Family Life Center. All in attendance enjoyed the food and fellowship.
On Saturday many turned out for the work day at the church. Thanks for all your cooperation getting the much-needed projects completed.

The summer is here. Hot weather is here to stay. Don’t sweat all the small stuff. Ask God to be with you everyday!
Have a wonderful week!
