Teen struck in hit and run accident
Police are asking for help in locating the driver of a vehicle involved in a hit-and-run accident last Tuesday evening.
Cedric Moon, 17, of Madison, was struck by a car while walking on the side of Meadow Ridge Drive from his grandmother’s house back to his own residence. Moon stated in an accident report taken by the Madison Police Department that he heard the vehicle approaching behind him, and "knew that the vehicle was going to strike him."
Moon was hit on his legs by the oncoming car, and was knocked into the air, at which time he received a "visible injury" to the side of his head. He was later transported to Morgan County Memorial Hospital for further treatment before being released.
Though Moon was unable to produce a distinct visual description of the vehicle, he believes that the car was a dark colored, late model 1980s Chevrolet Caprice or Impala. A witness also stated that he saw a vehicle driving away from the accident scene with taillights similar in style to such a vehicle.
The accident remains under investigation at this time. Police are asking anyone with any information regarding the incident to contact them at 706-342-1275.
