Bostwick holds Arbor Day celebration
Bostwick city officials and citizens commemorated Arbor Day despite cold temperatures and rain this past Saturday. Bostwick was named a Tree City for the third year in a row, said June Whittaker, Bostwick City Council member.
Damon Malcom dedicated a tree that the group planted in memory of his grandfather, Herbert Malcom Sr.
Mark Batchelor also donated a tree.
"We were busy on Arbor Day," Whittaker said. "We were there, and we had a big party."
Whittaker said that a banner will fly from the Bostwick Hotel to show that they celebrated Arbor Day.
Arbor Day ceremony attendees enjoyed hot pumpkin bread with whipped cream and hot tea and coffee at Whittaker’s house.
