Yard Sale to benefit the Haiti Generator Fund to be held next Sunday
By Margie Ward
Sunday morning I was able to be back in Sunday school and church. It seemed like it had been forever since I had been there. I can’t ever seem to understand why people that can go to church won’t, then there are those that can’t go but wants to be there, and are usually there not just on Sunday morning but at all services. Something is missing somewhere in those that just don’t seem to be concerned about the church whether it is there or not. Nothing like being with God’s people, in His house.
A good attendance was present with some visitors and we are always thankful for them coming and hope they received a blessing by coming and will feel welcome to come again to any of our services. We did miss some of our regular members due to various reasons. We pray for them and hope to see them back next week. The call to worship, “Surely the Presence of the Lord Is in This Place,” by the choir. Another special, “I Give all my Life,” by the Praise Team. Bro. Ron’s message was from 1 John 2: 1-2. Jesus made a willing sacrifice for us; the devil is always around trying to get the people’s mind off God; we know the Bible is truth and we need to stand for this. We need to pray for our country; God is bigger than any problems that we may have. The devil doesn’t want us to believe this. If people say they have no sin this lie is coming from the devil, the Bible says, “All have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God,” Rom. 3:23. We need to respect what John is saying 1 John 1: 9. In God’s eyes we are little children, we see His love, He tells us the only way to get to heaven is to be born again; can’t live in sin and be happy; Jesus is our advocate, our defense attorney, ever present with us, God’s word does not change. Satan accuses the brethren day and night, that’s why we have an advocate. God is our justifier; Jesus died for sins of the whole world. Following the message the Lord’s Supper was observed.
On Sunday night at 6 p.m. the attendance was good. Bro. Ron’s message, “How we can be encouraged,” Heb. 12: 1-2 and many other scripture. We all need to be encouraged to move forward daily, we should move forward in faith, by faith, lay aside anything that’s hindering us from growing, sin of unbelief will entangle us, God will make a way for us to overcome, we have a race to run with endurance, patience. Society today is attacking our patience. We should fix our eyes on Jesus, take eyes off what’s hindering us. Remember God is God of all encouragement and hope, God responds to our call for encouragement, He is not finished with us yet, and He leaves nothing unfinished. We can strengthen ourselves in the Lord by encouraging others. We can learn to be encouraged by sharing with others the comfort you have been comforted with in all afflictions. Are we willing to allow Jesus to finish that work in us?

I am doing a lot better, went back to the doctor last week, and still can’t do a whole lot. I can drive and that’s a major step after a month of not being able to. My daughter, son and church family has taken me everywhere that I’ve needed to go, they were always ready and willing to do anything they could. I thank God for them taking time out of their busy days to do for me. So many more neighbors etc. have also offered their help, everyone has been so good. I had many, many visitors and numerous phone calls both of these helped a lot, no one can understand until it’s them being confined. Don’t think it won’t happen to you. God is good, always provides and shows His love through others. Thanks to all.
