The Citizen catches up with some of Morgan County's newest on the first day of school
Vicki E’Dalgo
When Vicki E’Dalgo’s twins Hagen and Savannah get on the bus the morning of the first day of school, mom will be driving. Their destination is the same – Morgan County Elementary School – where the kids will begin fourth grade and mom will start her new job as a parapro working with special needs children, including a wheelchair-bound paralyzed student in one class and a student with spina bifida in another.
“They’re gonna be with me a lot,” E’Dalgo said, indicating that her kids will be in the same building or vehicle with her for pretty much 24 hours every day.
She is excited about the first day of school, but isn’t sure what to expect.
“There’s always been a special place in my heart for…special needs children,” E’Dalgo said. “I’m thinking positive. It’s gonna be a great day.”
