Center Pointe makes land purchase

Six years ago, nine people met in Rick Smith’s living room for the first service of what would become the Center Pointe Church of Madison.

Since then, the church has moved to a hotel and, in August of 2004, to a building on Lions Club Road.

The congregation has grown to almost 250 members, and the church has recently invested in 11 acres of land on Bethany Road, where they have plans to build a new church in the future. The new church and land will be paid for through the church’s financial campaign, called “Faith for the Future.”

At 10:30 a.m. on Sunday, August 24, the church will be celebrating their sixth year anniversary with a special service at the Morgan County High School auditorium. There will be testimonies and several dramas, as well as a singing group, "Undivided." The service will be open to all who wish to attend and will be followed by lunch at noon in the school's cafeteria.
