10,11 and 12 Fall Baseball
Fall Baseball is being offered this year. The league will be set up in a non-competitive format with maximum playing time for all participants. The league games will be played on Wednesday afternoons so as not to interfere with Soccer and Football. Tee-Shirts and caps will be provided for each player, as well as all catcher’s equipment. Age is determined prior to May 1, 2008

Competitive Cheerleading
Competitive Cheerleading will be offered for girls age nine and up (as of Sept. 1, 2008). The program is being brought to us by Coach Nicole Duncan, former cheerleader for the Atlanta Falcons. The class is designed to teach the basic fundamentals of competitive cheering; students will learn a full routine and will work on tumbling, stunts, jumps, motions, cheers and dance each week. Students will form a team and will have the option of competing in competitions. No prior skill is needed; students will be grouped with participants with similar skill and of the same age. This program will require a high participation rate for success. Practices will be held weekly on Mondays and Tuesdays from 4-6 PM

Baton Twirling
Baton Twirling is being taught by Candy Byrd; coach of the University of Georgia Majorettes. Classes will meet once per week on Tuesdays in four week sessions. Class times for K-third grade is 3:45-4:45, 4th-8th grade 4:45-5:45. First class meets Tuesday September 2 in the Denon Building.

Cheerleading
Recreation Level Cheerleading will be offered for girls in the 6-8 and 9-10 year old age groups (as of September 1, 2008). The squads will cheer at all recreation football games. T-Shirt, Shorts and Pompons will be provided by the Recreation Department

Coed Soccer
Coed Soccer is offered for Boys and Girls ages 8-13 (as of July 31, 2008).  Complete uniforms and shin guards will be provided and kept by the players.

Micro Soccer
Micro Soccer is offered as a program for boys and girls ages 4-5 which play 4 on 4 and 6-7 which play 7 on 7 using a goal keeper. Age Control (as of September 1, 2008). Shirts and shin guards will be provided and kept by the players.

Tackle Football
Tackle Football is offered in two age groups, 9-10 and 11-12 (as of September 1, 2008). All equipment (minus shoes) will be furnished with game jerseys to be given to each player to keep. All other equipment must be returned. Medical insurance is required (yours or  ours).

Flag Football
Flag Football is available for children ages 6-8 (as of September 1, 2008). Shirts and shorts will be provided as well as flags and other equipment. Games will begin in the middle of September and are expected to be played in Madison. Shirts and Shorts will be kept by the player.

Parent Information and

Orientation
All first time participants of youth team sports must have one parent or guardian complete the free parent information and orientation class prior to registering. We use this class as a tool to promote sportsmanship and curb violence.

Gymnastics
Joe Ashley and his staff from Rockdale Gymnastics are returning this fall with the same great program that they brought to Morgan County last year. In addition to the beginner gymnastics courses that were previously offered, advanced courses are also being offered for the students that completed at least the January through May classes. Both the beginner and advanced classes will be offered in four week, one month increments, and registration will be on a month by month basis. Classes will cover multiple gymnastic aspects, including vault, bars, beam, tumbling, trampoline, mini trampoline, and tumbling track. All classes will be offered on Tuesdays in three separate class times: 3:45, 4:45, and 5:45. Classes are also broken up  into the following ages, however space is limited*: 3-4 year olds, 5-7 year olds and 8-10 year olds. A 2:45 pre-school age class will also be offered; this will consist of a two- year old Mommy and Me  and classes for 3-4 Year Olds. Advanced classes for 6-8 year olds will be offered at 3:45, 9-10 year olds at 4:45, and 11-Older at 5:45.
In addition to the regular classes at 5:45, a tumbling class will also be offered at this time for 10-13 year olds.
At 6:45 we will offer a Cheerleading tumbling class for High School and Middle School students.

Registration fee: $65 first month, $45 per month after
All classes will be held in the Denon facility. Classes will be offered this fall for the months of September (begins Sept. 9), October (begins Oct 7) and November (begins Nov 4).

Tennis Classes
A new tennis program will be offered this Fall by Nick Stutsman. Coach Nick is currently the tennis coach for Mercer University and will be offering classes this fall for both youth and adults. Classes will start after Labor Day and will be offered in 6 week sessions, however the exact schedule of classes is still to be determined. Watch for announcements from the Recreation Department in the newspaper and online

Tae-Kwon-Doe
Tae-Kwon-Doe is being brought to us this fall by the same people that brought us gymnastics. Keith Kinder with Rockdale Gymnastics is bringing his program to Morgan County with the same intensity and attention to detail that has made the gymnastics program so popular. Students will have the ability to advance through a belt system and will learn multiple aspects of martial arts. Classes will meet on Mondays for four weeks; registration is available on a month by month basis. 5-8 year olds, 5:00 p.m.-5:45 p.m., 9 and older 5:45-6:30. First day of class is Monday, September 8, and new classes will begin each month. Classes may be added depending on demand. A one time $40 uniform fee is required; includes a T-Shirt and official Rockdale Tae-Kwon-Doe uniform with logo. All classes are held in MCRD Gym.

Adult Tennis Classes
Adult Tennis Classes will be taught by Coach Nick Stutsman. Coach Stutsman is the current coach for the Mercer University Tennis Team. Classes will start after Labor Day and will be taught in six week blocks, however the exact schedule is still to be determined. Watch for announcements from the Recreation Department in the newspaper and online.

“Dance the Pounds Away” Low impact aerobic classes using resistance bands, step aerobics, weights and Pilates for flexibility and strength. Taught by Mitzi Jackson, Public Health Educator for Morgan County. Classes will be on Tuesday and Thursday evenings, 5:30-7:00 in the MCRD Gym.

Coed Softball is being offered this fall. Games will be played in September and October, using A.S.A. Class A rules. Teams will play 8 games on the Mason Field, Monday, Tuesday and Thursday nights. Must have 4 teams for program to make.

Volleyball will be offered in church and open leagues for ladies, men and coed play. There must be at least four teams in each league to play and games will be played late September through early November on Tuesday nights in the MCRD Gym. Teams will play a total of 10 games
