Rotary Club welcomes Georgia Rotary Student
Special to the Citizen
The Rotary Club of Morgan County recently welcomed Norman Pongracz to its Club. Norman is this year’s Georgia Rotary Student Program scholar for the Club. Born and raised in Hungary, he will be attending the University of Georgia. Since 1946, Rotarians in Georgia have promoted world peace through understanding by offering scholarships to international students for one year of study in Georgia colleges and universities.
Georgia Rotary Clubs sponsor students recommended by a Rotary Club in their home country. The students become adopted members of a Georgia "host family," but live on-campus at the school they attend. The scholarship covers one scholastic year, from August to May, and is for study in colleges and universities located in the State of Georgia.
The scholarship covers tuition, book allowance, meals, and a college room. The Rotary Club of Morgan County looks forward to working with Norman in the months to come.
