Bizz Buzz

Jimmy Buffet! Well paint me red and call me a hot pepper! I flat can’t believe you’re sittin’ up here on my porch on a Saturday night! Wow! Dedicate a song to the Biz Buzz!  Hit it! “Another Saturday night and I ain’t got no money.

Bank fees snatched my paycheck soon as I got paid. How I wish I had someone to talk to I’m in an awful way.”  Amen Jimmy! I was flat broke before I even knew I was flat broke! I mean I ain’t got diddly squat! Honey . . . I’m talkin’ broke as in mac-n-cheese-it’s-what’s-for dinner-every-night broke! That’s why I’m spendin’ Saturday night on my ding dang porch cryin’ into my heavily discounted red wine instead of goin’ on a road trip with Momma!

Oh . . . never mind! I’ve got to stop wiggin’ out like the mind-blowing’ brokeophobic that I am! I’m just gonna keep my piddly pay check money (and I do mean piddly) under the mattress from now on! No deposit holds. No overdraft fees! Yeah!

Right! So pretty soon I’ll have me enough money saved up for a new pair of stylin’ kicks! And not a moment too soon ‘cause y’all we’re gettin’ us a brand spankin’ new rockin’ shoe store! I kid you not! Madisonian Vicky Hunt is openin’ Barkin’ Dog Shoe Company in Madison in mid-October at 125 West Washington Street where Mulberry Toys is located. As y’all know, Mulberry Toys is movin’ to Main Street! Anyway, Vicky says Barkin’ Dog Shoe Company is gonna sell fabulous, healthy, comfy, sexy, fun shoes! Yay!

Oh my gosh y’all! Barkin’ Dog is even gonna sell those fancy dance mTB shoes that help you tone up and burn more calories while you just walk up the street! They’re oh so cool. Ok! So other brands will be: Birkenstock, Clarks, Dansko, Earth Shoes, NAOT, Finn Comfort and more! Can’t wait!  Y’all keep watchin’ the Buzz for more on this high-steppin’ story!

Heather Whidby of sparkly Whidby Jewelers at 177 West Jefferson Street in Madison is headin’ to the Big Apple this month! Honey, that girl has goin’ to highfalutin’  New York City to get some schoolin’ in redesignin’ jewelry! Right! Heather wanted me to tell y’all that she’s attendin’ the Gemological Institute of America’s Quick Design class to learn even more than she already does about designin’ and redesignin’ jewelry!

To celebrate her class, she’s gonna hold a special jewelry redesign event in October!

Watch the Citizen for her ad! Oh and she wanted me to also alert y’all to her upcomin’ promotion for Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October with Swiss Army Watches! Honey, 10 percent of the sale will go to the Susan G. Komen Foundation that’s dedicated to findin’ a cure! She’s already sellin’ those watches so y’all head over there and get you one!

Talk about a hot pepper! The 4th Annual Chili Cook-Off sponsored by Madison Main Street, United Bank, Georgia Power and the fabulous award-winning Morgan County Citizen, is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 4 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.! Chili Cook-Off Queen Ann Huff, also known as Madison Main Street Director, says y’all come over to City Hall and pick up an application!

You can also go online and print off your registration form!

But, you must drop ‘em off at City Hall in downtown Madison. Call Ann at 706-342-1251 (ex. 206 or 208) for more info. Oh and Ann wanted me to tell y’all that this year’s Chili Cook-Off will have a Fall festival atmosphere complete with farmers market, tractors and live music!

Lord have mercy there’s even gonna be a hot pepper eatin’ contest!

Boy Howdy! Ok so it’s all gonna take place off the square behind the Morgan County Courthouse. Honey, the Hot Off The Presses team is already preparing that acceptance speech just in case they win the $400 grand prize and trophy! Y’all register today! Hey and you can still be a sponsor! Just call Ann! Yeehaw!

That’s it for the Buzz! Y’all be sweet to Momma, pick some hot, hot, hot peppers and sing some Jimmy Buffet!

I’ll see all y’all next week. Same time. Same Number One Weekly Newspaper in the Great State of Georgia!
