MTV comes to Morgan County High
Staff Reports
Although Morgan County High School has already been made famous with the recent announcement of Principal Mark Wilson's new title as Principal of the Year, the school will soon be made more famous when it hits the television screen in January as the backdrop for a cable television show.
Junior Avery Williams has been selected to participate in the MTV reality show "MADE." The reality television series is built around adolescents who are set on achieving a self-improvement goal. Williams selected his goal, completed the interview process on film in May when the show visited the high school, and was selected by the New York producers several months later. The film crew will be on the MCHS campus for the next several weeks as Williams works to achieve his goal, which, according to executives at MTV, must be kept a secret due to the nature of the show.
Drew DeNicola and Elizabeth Bethea are part of Williams' camera crew. The two seem to be enjoying their Madison and Morgan County High School experience. "I love the school. Everyone is really nice and respectful, and the principal Dr. Wilson is awesome," DeNicola said. " MTV loves small towns."
According to the show's associate producer Ted McEnaney, the show's tentative air date is January 11 2009.
