Madison police are seeking help to find information leading to the arrest of a man suspected of attempting to rape a woman at a car wash on Eatonton Highway.

According to City of Madion Police Department reports, a woman reported on August 10 that, while she was cleaning her car at 4:30 a.m. at the Olde South Car Wash, a black male, approximately 6 feet tall, 180 pounds, approached her from behind, struck her and forced her into her car.

The man was wearing black jogging pants, a light–colored shirt and had a white bandana pulled over his face.

Reports state that the woman fought the attacker and fled the vehicle. She was grabbed again, reports state, and the man attempted to drag her into a car washing bay. During the attack the woman was screaming for help. Reports state she managed to escape the man again and fled across the street to the Budget Inn motel.

Authorities received an anonymous call to dispatch during the attack that reported that a woman was outside the Budget Inn motel screaming for someone to “call the police.”

When officers arrived they found the woman with dried blood on the corner of her mouth. Also, the bottom right half of her dentures had been broken and folded back.

The woman said the attacker took her University of Georgia designed wallet from her purse, which had been on the roof of her vehicle and took a gold herringbone necklace.
