Baton Twirling is being taught by Candy Byrd; coach of the University of Georgia Majorettes. Classes will meet once per week on Tuesdays in four week sessions. Class times for K-3rd grade is 3:45-4:45, 4th-8th grade 4:45-5:45. First class meets Tuesday September 2 in the Denon Building.

Gymnastics: Joe Ashley and his staff from Rockdale Gymnastics are returning this fall with the same great program that they brought to Morgan County last year. In addition to the beginner gymnastics courses that were previously offered, advanced courses are also being offered for the students that completed at least the January through May classes. Both the beginner and advanced classes will be offered in four week, one month increments, and registration will be on a month by month basis. Classes will cover multiple gymnastic aspects, including vault, bars, beam, tumbling, trampoline, mini trampoline, and tumbling track. All classes will be offered on Tuesdays in three separate class times: 3:45, 4:45, and 5:45. Classes are also broken up  into the following ages, however space is limited*: 3-4 year olds, 5-7 year olds and 8-10 year olds. A 2:45 pre-school age class will also be offered; this will consist of a 2 year old Mommy and Me  and classes for 3-4 Year Olds. Advanced classes for 6-8 year olds will be offered at 3:45, 9-10 year olds at 4:45, and 11-Older at 5:45.

In addition to the regular classes at 5:45, a tumbling class will also be offered at this time for 10-13 year olds.
At 6:45 we will offer a Cheerleading tumbling class for High School and Middle School students.

All classes will be held in the Denon facility. Classes will be offered this fall for the months of September (begins Sept. 9), October (begins Oct 7) and November (begins Nov 4).

Tennis Classes: A new tennis program will be offered this Fall by Nick Stutsman. Coach Nick is currently the tennis coach for Mercer University and will be offering classes this fall for both youth and adults. Classes will start after Labor Day and will be offered in 6 week sessions, however the exact schedule of classes is still to be determined. Watch for announcements from the Recreation Department in the newspaper and online

Tae-Kwon-Doe is being brought to us this fall by the same people that brought us gymnastics. Keith Kinder with Rockdale Gymnastics is bringing his program to Morgan County with the same intensity and attention to detail that has made the gymnastics program so popular. Students will have the ability to advance through a belt system and will learn multiple aspects of martial arts. Classes will meet on Mondays for four weeks; registration is available on a month by month basis. 5-8 year olds, 5:00 PM-5:45 PM, 9 and older 5:45-6:30. First day of class is Monday, September 8, and new classes will begin each month. Classes may be added depending on demand. A one time $40 uniform fee is required; includes a T-Shirt and official Rockdale Tae-Kwon-Doe uniform with logo. All classes are held in MCRD Gym.

Adult Tennis Classes will be taught by Coach Nick Stutsman. Coach Stutsman is the current coach for the Mercer University Tennis Team. Classes will start after Labor Day and will be taught in six week blocks, however the exact schedule is still to be determined. “Ladies’ Dance the Pounds Away” Low impact aerobic classes using resistance bands, step aerobics, weights and Pilates for flexibility and strength. Taught by Mitzi Jackson, Public Health Educator for Morgan County. Classes will be on Tuesday and Thursday evenings, 5:30-7:00 in the MCRD Gym.
