For the second consecutive game, the Morgan County Middle School Bullpups dominated the opposition in route to a one-sided victory.

The Pups defeated the Loganville Middle School Red Devils last Wednesday 27-7 to move their season record to 2-0 on the season.

A quick start by the Pups offense set the tone for the game.

"We got the ball and started strong," Head Coach Stacy Webb said. "We took it down the field and put it in the end zone for six."
Campbell Harrison added the extra point, putting the Pups ahead seven, early.

Morgan's defense held the Red Devils scoreless on the next few possessions, before runningback Trey Rollins turned a long run into six points. The Bullpups would lead going into the half 14-0.

The Pups would move ahead 21-0 shortly after the beginning of the third quarter with another break away run by Rollins. Big runs were the result of strong blocking up front. The Bullpup offensive line is made up of center Drew McHugh, guards Justin Wrens and Corey Eaton, tackles Quintavious Williams and Dakota Shelton and tight end Ben Scoggins.

The Red Devils would cut into that lead with a long pass for a touchdown.

"The long pass was the only play our defense got beat on," Webb said. "The receiver just slipped behind our secondary and made a great catch."

A final touchdown at the end of the fourth quarter would bring the game to a close with Morgan winning by a final of 27-7.

"Overall, we played a great game," Webb said. "Our linebackers played well and the kids hit well for the second straight week. The special teams did well and again we received good play and game management from our offense."

The Bullpups were scheduled to travel to Monroe Area High School to face Carver Middle School on Wednesday, September 23.

Morgan will then face Social Circle at home on Wednesday, October 1 scheduled for 4:30 p.m.
