The Morgan County High School Cross Country Varsity Girls and Boys team competed in Alcovy High School's Last Chance Invitational Race on Saturday, October 25.
The girls squad placed second overall, with Shana Boswell and Camilla Dartnell notching fourth and fifth place finishes. Elizabeth Newton added a tenth, while Annabeth Spence came in fifteenth. Head Coach Brandon York said "I'm pleased that our runners in the third through fifth positions on the team are turning in such positive results.”
The boys squad, despite missing a couple of the stronger runners, was led by Chris Clyde and his 20:34 5K time. York said Clyde continues to turn in solid times.
The final regular season meet of the season is scheduled for today at Athens Academy. Start time is scheduled for 2 p.m. The top four teams will go on to the state competition, as well as the top six individuals.
