The Morgan County High School Lady Dog volleyball team ended their season last Saturday at the state sectional tournament with a first round loss to the top ten ranked Flowery Branch Lady Falcons. The sectionals were held at Morgan County High School.
“We drew a tough seed, having to face a top ten team in the first round of the state sectionals,” Head Coach Pam Hooten said. “Our goal was to play well and if we lost, we would settle for being beat, but not beating ourselves. We accomplished that goal. We played very well. Thus, we ended the season on a positive note.”
Flowery Branch captured the victory with game scores of 25-15, 25-22 and 25-12.
The Lady Dogs finish with an overall season record of 22-23, one game below the .500 mark.
From Saturday’s bracket, St. Pius X advanced to the final four with victories over Northside, Mary Persons and Ringgold.
