Annie Mae Ross Thomas
“Dinah”
Mother Annie Mae Ross Thomas, 94, died Tuesday, November 18, 2008. She was born August 23, 1914 to the late Porter and Julia Ross. She was a native of Buckhead and a faithful mother of Mt. Zion Baptist Church until her health failed. She was fondly called “Dinah”. She was married to Ed Willie Thomas who preceded her in death. They were blessed with 10 children, two daughters, Mary Thomas Davis and Revonia Peters, and one son, Hubert Thomas, preceded her in death.
She is survived by three daughters, Annie Julia (Columbus) Johnson, Katherine (Johnny) Armour and Geraldine (Edward Moore); four sons, Lee Earnest (Carrie) Thomas, Ed Willie Thomas, Paul (Sylvia) Thomas and Dennis (Janice) Thomas; a special friend Kelly Johnson, 25 grandchildren, and a host of great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral service was held at 1 p.m. Saturday, November 22, at Mt. Zion Baptist Church. Rev. Timothy Kinbell pastor provided the Eulogy and was assisted by Rev. W. J. Reid, Rev. Alfonzo Peters, and Rev. Charles Johnson officiating. Interment was in Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery.
Casket attendants were grandsons and nephews; flower attendants were her granddaughters and nieces.
Jones and Turner Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Glenn (Hearn) Jones Jr.
Glenn (Hearn) Jones Jr., 79, of Braselton died Wednesday, December 3, 2008. He was born in Morgan County the son of Glenn Hearn and Martha Carson Jones.
He was a member of New Liberty United Methodist Church. He retired from Gulf Oil Corporation where he drove a tanker truck. He was a Justice of Peace in the 70’s and early 80’s for West Jackson County. He was a Mason. He served in the Navy during the Korean War.
His wife Sara Clark Jones preceded him in death.
He is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law, Glenn and Pam Jones and Brad and Jennifer Jones, all of Braselton; a brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Nita Jones of Madison and a brother-in-law Eddie Clark of Braselton; grandchildren, Brian G. Jones and Kalyn Jones, and Curtis Campbell; his fiance, Marjorie Hulsey of Braselton; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service was held at 11 a.m. Saturday, December 6 at New Liberty Methodist Church with the Rev. Jamie Prickett officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery.

Lizzie Mae Hanson Harper
Lizzie Mae Hanson Harper, 83, died Thursday, December 4, 2008 at her home following a brief illness. She was born January 10, 1925 to Claude Franklin Hanson and Sarah Leila Peters Hanson in Morgan County. She was married to Raymond Harper who preceded her in death. Also preceding her in death were an infant child, her sisters Myrtle Harrison and Modell Harper and brothers-in-law Jodie Harrison and Percy Harper.
She is survived by her children, Janice H. Cronic, Shirley H. Sidwell, Raymond Franklin Harper, Vivian H. Walker, James Harper, Kenny Harper, Kathy H. Pusateri and Patty H. Brooks, five sons-in-law, one daughter-in-law; 12 surviving grandchildren, one great-grandchild and numerous special nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Harper loved her children and grandchildren and took great pride in cooking, gardening, sewing, reading, crocheting and her flowers. She had been an egg producer with poultry houses and also helped raise cotton.
Funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Sunday, December 7 in the A. E. Carter Chapel with interment in Brownwood Baptist Church cemetery.
Pallbearers were her grandson, Wayne Walker, grandsons-in-law, Rene Larma, John Floyd, Jeff Bruce and great nephew Ronnie Stovall and Bobby Moore.
