The Morgan County Planning Commission will hold its monthly meeting this week, December 18, instead of on the regular fourthThursday, which will fall on Christmas Day.

“We have several big things on the agenda this month, a couple of conditional uses for churches—those can be contentious,” said Danielle Peck, a planner for the county.

Centennial Baptist Church has filed a conditional use request for a picnic shelter/enclosed kitchen to be built across Brownwood Road from the current main building. Union Springs Baptist Church has filed a conditional use request for the construction of a new sanctuary the corner of Old Mill Road and West Main Street in Rutledge. Both requests are for agriculturally-zoned properties.
