Baby Jessica Erin Bailey
Baby Jessica Erin Bailey, eight-week-old daughter of Marshall and Amber Bailey, died Sunday, December 7, 2008 at Oconee Regional Medical Center.
She is survived by her parents, her five-year-old brother, Jake; grandparents, Ferris and Kim Messer and Harold Bailey; her great-grandmother Betty Henson, and Uncle Mark and Aunt Suzille Bailey and Uncle Dexter Messer.
She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Mary Bailey and great-grandfather, Kirk Henson.
Funeral service was held Friday, December 12 at 3:30 p.m. at Lake Oconee Baptist Chapel with the Rev. Rodney Allgood officiating. Interment followed in the Bailey Family Cemetery in Buckhead

Bonnie Alvin Huff
Alvin Huff, 79, of Buckhead died Tuesday, December 9, 2008. He was born April 27, 1929 to William Hershel and Bonnie Black Huff. He served in the United States Air Force and worked as a dairy farmer. He also enjoyed woodworking.
Mr. Huff is survived by his sons, Charles Huff and Leslie of Madison, Dennis Huff and Sharon of Buckhead and John Huff of Buckhead; five grandchildren, Leslie Malone, Jill Huff, Brian Huff, Justin Huff and Bonnie Huff; great-grandchildren, Sarah Huff, Trenton Huff and Brooks Malone; a brother, Frank Huff and two sisters, Mary Louise Mack and Carolyn Gilmore. He was preceded in death by brothers, Roy B. Huff, Henry Terrell Huff and William Hershel Huff Jr.
Funeral service was held Sunday at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of A. E. Carter Funeral Home with Dr. Layne Jenkins officiating. Interment followed in Fairview Cemetery.

Danny L. Cronic Sr.
Danny L. Cronic Sr., 60, of Madison died Wednesday, December 10, 2008.
He served his country in the United States Army and was a retired auto mechanic.
His mother, Evelyn Walls Cronic and a son, Jason Cronic, preceded him in death.
Surviving are his father, Walter (Bud) Cronic of Buckhead; sons and daughter-in-law, Edward and Crystal Cronic and Danny L. Cronic, all of Madison; brother, Steve Cronic of Madison; sister, Linda Ralston of Lula; granddaughter, Kayleigh Cronic and several nieces.
Funeral service was held Saturday, December 13 at Freedom Worship Center in Greshamville with Pastor Wayne Powers officiating.

Jimmy R. Keller Sr.
Jimmy R. Keller Sr., 69, of Rutledge died Saturday, December 13, 2008 in Atlanta. He was preceded in death by a son and is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, four children, seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral service was held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, December 17 at Ward’s Fairview Chapel. Interment was at Fairview Memorial Gardens.
Patricia Elaine Bridges
Patricia Elaine “Pat” Bridges, 58, of Athens died December 13, 2008 at St. Mary’s Hospice in Bogart. She grew up in Pennsylvania and had been living in Athens for the past 15 years. She worked for the Atlanta Journal and Constitution. She was married to Madison native Edwin Bridges.
Mrs. Bridges is survived by her husband of 13 years, James Edwin Bridges and two step-daughters, Rachel McGinty and Ray of Buckhead and Christine Dodson and Burt of Haddock; a brother and a sister in Pennsylvania and nieces and nephews.
Funeral service was held Monday, December 15 at 2 p.m. at A. E. Carter Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Bill Hodges officiating. Interment was at Madison Memorial Park.

Shirley Knight Minish
Shirley Knight Minish, 69, died Thursday, December 9 at Newton Medical Center after a brief illness. She was born in Morgan County on May 9, 1939 to Otha and Annie Autry Knight. She grew up and spent her entire life in Morgan County.
Mrs. Minish was the widow of Lee H. Minish. Greg Self was her only child. Greg and his wife Kay and their daughter, Anna Marie live on Sandy Creek Road in Madison. Anna Marie was the light of Mrs. Minish’s life. She enjoyed her dogs, especially Susie, Buster, Annie and Laccy. Quilting, fishing and attending auctions were activities, which gave her pleasure. She had been an active member of Centennial Baptist Church. She had worked with the telephone company as an operator for 37 years.
Mrs. Minish is survived by her son, daughter-in-law, granddaughter, brothers, Otha Knight Jr., Bobby Knight and a sister, Lelia Knight. She was preceded in death by her parents, and two brothers, Thomas Knight and Wade Knight.
Funeral was held Thursday, December 11, at 3 p.m. at A. E. Carter Chapel with Dr. Sollie Hicks and William Tribble officiating. Interment was in Centennial Baptist Church Cemetery.

Glenda June Copeland Glenda June Copeland, 64, of Pleasant Gap Road, Ellijay, formerly of Blairsville, passed away on Friday, December 5, 2008 in the Union General Hospital following a brief illness. Mrs. Copeland was born on June 30,1944 in Union County, the daughter of the late Charlie Wiggins and the late Clarice Spivey Wiggins. Glenda loved to cook and loved helping others. She was a loving wife, mother, sister and grandmother. She was preceded in death by her first husband, John Loren Alexander in 1979. Mrs. Copeland was a member of Shady Grove Methodist Church. Surviving Mrs. Copeland are her loving husband, Morris Copeland of Ellijay; two daughters and one son-in-law, Tammy and Chris Johnson of Hayesville, Rhonda Alexander of Madison; one son and daughter-in-law, Jimmy and Cheryl Alexander of Blairsville; two sisters, Margie Newby and LaRue Hogsed, both of Blairsville; five grandchildren, Mitchell and Loren, and Elodie Johnson, Tyler and Brianna Weatherholtz; many other relatives and friends also survive. Funeral services were held on Monday, December 8, 2008 from the Mountain View Chapel with the Rev. Jerry Helton officiating. The following gentleman served as pallbearers: Wayne and Keith Newby, Larry Walker, Cecil Newby, Chris Johnson and Dale Hamby. Interment followed in the Shady Grove Methodist Church Cemetery. The family met with friends at the funeral home on Sunday evening from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Mountain View Funeral Home of Blairsville in charge of the arrangements.
