An estimated 125 people visited Rutledge last Friday and Saturday, participants in the 2008 Countryside Christmas Tour of Homes, sponsored by the Rutledge Garden Club.
"It was very, very nice," Rutledge Garden Club member and Tour of Homes coordinator Carol Altznauer said. "All of our homeowners did such a good job, and the houses were beautiful."
Tour attendance was slow Friday, but picked up Saturday.
While the club hoped to bring in more money, they did have a bigger goal in mind.
"Financially, we didn't do all that great," Altznauer said. "Our goal was to bring people into Rutledge...Our goal was met there; we're very pleased."
The Rutledge Garden Club has yet to decide in what way to use the funds raised at the event; that will be discussed at their January meeting.
