Essie Mae Hillman

Essie Mae Hillman, 55, died December 14, 2008. She was born June 12, 1953 to the late Thomas Carey Cobb and Sarah Lee Cobb. She was married to Walter Hillman.

She is survived by two brothers, Thomas (Madeline) Cobb of Covington and Jake Heard of Rutledge; one sister, Kitty Brinkley of Atlanta; three uncles, Stanley (Janice) Anderson of Atlanta, Willie Lee (Charlene) Stanford Sr. of Monroe and James Anderson of Covington; two aunts, Doris Anderson of Covington and Princess Brown of Madison and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends and a devoted cousin, Gloria Little of Buckhead.

Funeral service was held at 1 p.m. Thursday, December 18 at Calvary Baptist Church with the Rev. Hoke L. Smith officiating and assisted by Pastor R. L. Terrell Jr., Pastor James A. Braswell, and Evangelist Deborah Massey. Interment was in Fairview Cemetery.

Flower attendants were Audrey Stephens, Mary Williams, Victoria Williams, Novella Cain, Lucile Hawkins and Kelia Thomas.
Pallbearers were Derrick Broadnax, Derrick Terrell, Robert B. Lewis, Melvin Wade and Victor Smith.
Mapp-Gilmore Pyramid Funeral Service, LLC was in charge of arrangements.
