Mary Payne Bratcher, 90, of Rutledge died January 18, 2009. She was born June 24, 1918 in Rome to Horace G. Payne and Joseph Thomas Payne. She was married to the late James O. Bratcher. She was a homemaker. She moved to Morgan County in 2002 from Decatur. Mrs. Bratcher was a member of Harvest Time Church. She enjoyed gospel music and visiting with friends.

    She is survived by her children, Marianna Hornan and Darryl and James Bratcher and Linda, all of Rutledge; two grandchildren, Julie Hudgins, Jason Bratcher and Sandy; great-grandchildren Casy and Bobby Ledbetter, Hannah Beck, Ansley Hudgins, Hunter Hudgins and Peyton Hudgins; great-great-grandchildren Kennedy and Bailey Ledbetter; several nieces and nephews.

    The family received friends Wednesday, January 21 from noon until 2 p.m. at A. E. Carter Funeral Home. The funeral service followed at 2 p.m. Interment will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, January 22 at Resthaven Memorial Gardens in Decatur.
