A “knock and announce” search warrant served at a Maple Street, Madison, house ended with one man arrested and facing drug charges.
According to Sgt. Erich Adcock, Morgan County Sheriff’s Office, Horace Broadnax, 44, Madison, was arrested after officers served the search warrant at Broadnax’s Maple Street home.
Adcock said a drug dog alerted on several locations in the house and in Broadnax’s vehicle. A small quantity of suspected crack cocaine was discovered in the living room of the house and in Broadnax’s Cadillac. Officers also confiscated $800 found at the house.
Broadnax was charged with a felony count of possession of cocaine and was transported to the Morgan County Detention Center.
Adock said the arrest came after more than six months of surveillance at the house. He also said that undercover agents had made several controlled buys of cocaine at the house. Along with the Morgan County Sheriff’s Office, the Madison Police Department, the GBI and members of the Ocmulgee Drug Task Force participated in the arrest.
