Got a book collection that’s rather lacking?
The Morgan County Library is having a Public Book Sale Friday, January 30 to Sunday, February 1. The book sale is being hosted by Friends of the Library, an organization that helps the library with an additional library add-ons or equipment purchases, to help fund an expansion and renovation of the library.
The expansion, including an additional 3,000 square feet and full renovation, is slated for 2010. SPLOST funds will help with the majority of the costs.
The book sale will include many different types of literature, as well as books on tape.
“We will have a lot of very old books,” said Branch Manager Miriam Baker.
The sale starts for members on Thursday, January 29. Hours for the sale are Friday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.; and Sunday, 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.
“It has been a very successful venture for Friends of the Library,” said Baker. “In the past they’ve raised a couple thousand dollars [that went to] supplies with the book sale. We’re hoping for the same.”
