Book sale raises almost $2,000 for county library

After a whole weekend of selling books, the Friends of the Library have much to show for their efforts at the Morgan County Library's Book Sale.
The sale, held this past weekend to raise money for the library, raised over $1,800, and over half the books at the sale were purchased.
“We were very happy about it,” said Patsy Harris, chairman for Friends of the Library.
Between the abundance of volunteers and the sale - organized by category - the weekend went smoothly. And turnout impressed the Friends.
“We even had people outside of Morgan County come,” Harris said. “Next year, we plan to advertise to the bookstores all around."
Money earned from the sale will go towards additions to the library, as it has in years past. It will not go towards future additions to the library, as was stated in last week's article.
“Every penny will buy books for the library,” said Harris. “We are buying adult fiction books because that’s what the library needs right now, and that’s what the patrons are looking for.”
