Nancy Ahl

Nancy Furman Hogard Ahl, 64, of Rutledge died February 8, 2009.  She was born August 7, 1944 in Detroit, Michigan to Andrew and Ellen Day Furman. She received a Masters Degree and was a teacher. She was retired from the Henry County Board of Education. She was married to James W. Ahl on December 8, 1993. The Ahls lived in Jonesboro until moving to Rutledge three years ago. Mrs. Ahl was a member of the Delta Epsilon Chi Honor Society, the Henry County and Morgan County Retired Educators, the National Education Association and Madison Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband, James Ahl and four children, Dawn Davenport (Mark) of McDonough, Jeremy Hogard (Megan) of Lilburn, Lisa Ahl Duncan (Chris) of Evans and Kelly Ahl Paul (AJ) of Oak Ridge, North Carolina; a sister, Carol Cole and two brothers, Ron Furman and Doug Furman and nine grandchildren.
Funeral service was held at 11 a.m. Tuesday,February 10 in the chapel of A. E. Carter Funeral Home. A graveside service was held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, February 11 at Odum City Cemetery in Odum.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorials be made to Madison Baptist Church Faith Fund at 328 S. Main Street, Madison, GA 30650 or to the American Cancer Society at P. O. Box 56566, Atlanta, GA 30343.
A.E. Carter Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
