Gerald Franklin Gilbert
Gerald Franklin Gilbert, 65, of Bostwick died unexpectedly Tuesday, February 10, 2009. He was born November 25, 1943 in Morgan County to Harold and Margaret Allen Gilbert. He was a graduate of Morgan County High School, where he was a standout player on the football team. He was married on October 21, 1967 to Mary Alice Bramlett. They made their home in Bostwick and Mr. Gilbert operated the family farm, Gilbert and Sons Dairy.
He was a member of Gibbs Memorial Baptist Church. He loved farming and hunting. He also loved football, as a player and as a spectator. He was also a member of the “Rainbow Coffee Club” in Apalachee
Mr. Gilbert is survived by his wife of 41 years, Mary Alice Gilbert and their three sons, Greg Gilbert (Sonya) of Winder, Russ Gilbert (Katie) of Bogart and Tom Gilbert of Manhattan, Kansas; his mother, Margaret Gilbert; two brothers Tim Gilbert (Diana) and Mike Gilbert (Pam); and four grandchildren, Casey, Kyle, Riley and Sydney Gilbert.
The family received friends Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at A. E. Carter Funeral Home. The funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Thursday, February 12 at Gibbs Memorial Baptist Church with the Rev. Bill Tribble officiating. Interment followed at Bostwick Cemetery.
