Mrs. Ellen H. Tankersley

Mrs. Ellen Holloway Tankersley, 77 wife of the late Charles Tankersley formerly of the Double Branches Community died Tuesday, February 17, 2009 in Snellville.
Funeral services was held  Friday, February 20, 2009 at 11a.m. at Double Branches Baptist Church with Revs. Keith Etheridge, David Inglett and Ficklen Guin officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Tankersley, daughter of the late Henry M. and Jessie Burns Holloway, had lived in the Double Branches Community most of her life. She was retired from the Lincoln County School System in school food nutrition. A faithful member of Double Branches Baptist Church, Mrs. Tankersley was a member of the Adult Choir, WMU and actively served on numerous committees. She loved gardening, cooking, and spending time with her siblings, children and grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, H.M. Holloway.
She is survived by her sons: Charles Wayne Tankersley, and wife Cathy,  Madison; Thomas Brian Tankersley, and wife Becky,  Tifton; daughters:Rhonda Tankersley Ford, and husband Andy, Lawrenceville; Melanie Gaye Tankersley, Irmo, SC; brother: Allen Holloway, Lincolnton; sisters: Ernestine Bohler, Rachel Haynes, Prudie Tankersley, Julia Reese, Lincolnton; Lou McWilliams, Birmingham, Al. and  Patsy Clements, Augusta, eight grandchildren.
