Ronnie Mitchem, 52, died March 1, 2009 at Athens Regional Hospital. He was born February 4, 1957 to Clara and Emmitt Mitchem. He was educated in Morgan County Public Schools. Following graduation he was employed by the University of Georgia at the Experiment Station in Eatonton.
He is survived by two handsome sons, Coleman Dean and Aaron Bonner Mitchem. He is also survived by his mother, Mrs. Clara Mitchem, sisters Mary Ellen Varnes and husband Bob, Debbie Tillery and husband Dean, brother Eugene Mitchem and  wife Diane; nephews, Jeff Mitchem, Nick and John Tillery and Brad Vaughn, nieces, Tammie Wilson, Lisa Mitchem and Eugenia Whitted.
Memorial service was held Tuesday, March 3, at Cornerstone Christian Center with the pastor Russell Cash officiating. Henry Funeral Home of Social Circle was in charge of arrangements.
