Sorry y’all but I ain’t got no time for Biz Buzz right this minute. I’m real busy. It can’t be helped! So if you’ll excuse me I’ll just get back to work . . . Now . . . how do I work this Microsoft Office Excel program? Yikes! This program is flat scary, but it outta do the trick right nicely after a quick tutorial. Hey! What in the Sam Hill are y’all doin’ still readin’ this column? I thought I told y’all I was flat busy! Talk about persistent! I mean really! If you must know, I’m budgetin’ my post-recession fortune and just can’t chew gum and write a column at the same ding dang time! Right! So back to post-recession fortune plannin’! Ok so I’m gonna need Loads o Cash for that backyard mini-pool with matchin’ Jacuzzi and hand-crafted fire pit; brand-spankin’ new furniture for every room from Harris Furniture and In High Cotton and all the local antique shops; a yellow Vespa with matchin’ helmet; tons and tons of new clothes from Amelia’s, Godfrey Cox and Laughin’ Moon; a new shoe wardrobe from Barkin’ Dog Shoe Company; Morgan County real estate for a cabin, pond, horses, barn and garden; oh and barrels of monthly Mad Money for shoppin’ emergencies . . . Let’s total up phase one and see what we have . . . YIKES! Momma where are the smellin’ salts?  I’ve done contracted me a case of the vapors! Whew that’s better! I reckon I’d better lay off work on my post-recession plan until I finish the Biz Buzz!

Don’t look now, but somethin’ real strange is goin’ on around here. Petey the Poodle and Scrappy the Rescue are barkin’ with a British accent! And, now Bella the Cat is demandin’ to be called Queen Elizabeth! What the? Bunny the bunny! No way! Y’all Bunny is guardin’ the front door like an up-tight Bobby! Lord have mercy!  Oh I get it! The animals are actin’ up ‘cause Madisonian Dr. James Williams, DVM, is startin’ his local veterinarian practice right here in Madison. Ok y’all here’s the deal: James is a graduate of The Royal School of Veterinary Studies at Edinburgh University in Scotland! No wonder he sometimes sports a kilt! Ok so anyway, he purchased the property at 795 North Main Street in Madison and will operate his new practice as MainStreet Veterinary Hospital, a long-time tradition started by the late Dr. Kenneth Fortson. Cindy Simpson of Bostwick and Brittani Cartrette of Monroe will be on hand to help James and all of our fabulous pets. Oh and James will treat dogs, cats and even small animals like pet pigs and bunnies and he’ll also treat large animals like cows, horses and what-have-yous! Right so James will officially open this Thursday, April 9, so call 706-342-2955 for an appointment at once! The office will be open weekdays and later on Thursdays to accommodate working folks. They’ll be open on Saturdays from 9 until noon but not this Saturday because James is volunteerin’ on April 11, to administer rabies vaccinations with CARI at the old Pig building on Main Street in Madison! James is working on a new logo for his practice with Madisonian and graphic designer Colleen Hall so new signage is in the works! Love it! Oh and I almost forgot: prior to startin’ his own practice James worked with Madisonian Sammy McFadden at  Eatonton Vet Services in Eatonton! We’re excited to have James workin’ in Madison!

Shopologist Report. Laughing Moon, located at 183 South Main Street in Madison and owned by Madisonians Ron and Rhonda Erwin, is rockin’ with some new merchandise! I especially love the recycled fashion items like the soda-can pop-top clutch bags and change purses! Honey, Laughing Moon even has a handbag made from a recycled tire! Talk about makin’ a fashion statement! Rhonda also just got in some fabulous spring and summer dresses and they’re priced right! Oh and the rain boots are to die for! Get over there today and check it out, but don’t forget to bring your husband’s credit card honey ‘cause that way you can save your own money for even MORE shoppin’! Love it!
Ok y’all! That’s it for the Biz on Buzz this week! Y’all be sweet to Momma, play nice in the boardroom and shop local for EVERYTHING! Our merchants and restaurant owners are depending on us! I’ll see all y’all next week: Same time. Same Number One Newspaper in the Great State of Georgia!
