Sue Schwanenberger LeClair

Sue Schwanenberger LeClair, 44, died Saturday, April 18, 2009 at Abbey Hospice following a nine-year struggle with cancer. She was born in Wheeling, West Virginia on March 27, 1965; graduated from Wheeling Park High School in 1983 and Shepherd College in 1987 majoring in graphic art and design. She was employed by Georgia State University; and also worked with the Lutheran Brotherhood and Thrivent.

Sue was a Lutheran and had a strong enduring faith. She never knew a stranger and developed many deep and long lasting friendships throughout her life. Camp Luther in West Virginia played an important part in her life as well as activities for her sons and her church.

She is survived by her husband Tim and their sons, Jack, Joseph and Simon of Bishop, her parents, John and Carolyn Schwanenberger of Wheeling, West Virginia; brothers Roy (Carol) of Florence, Kentucky and Greg (Sue) of Lutz, Florida, and four nieces and nephews.

Contributions may be made to the LeClair boys’ educational fund at Athens First Bank or the Ferst Foundation for Literacy.

Funeral service was at All Saints Lutheran Church in Lilburn at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 22. Burial followed at Madison Memorial Park Cemetery. A memorial service will be held in Wheeling in the near future.

A. E. Carter Funeral Home in Madison was in charge of arrangements.
