Gwendolyn (Gwen) Ballard, 51, was born January 4, 1958. Her journey on this earth was brought to a close on Monday, May 5, 2009 in Madison.

She received her education and graduated in 1975 from the public schools of Morgan County. She received training through the Atlanta Urban League and was certified as an office assistant.

She was predeceased by her mother Stella C. Ballard, a brother GySgt. Leon L. Ballard. She is survived by her father, Tommie L. Ballard Sr., sisters Marilyn (Willie) Thomas, Evon (Leon) Brinkley, Mattie M. Ballard, Dorothy J. Ballard, Agnes C. Williams, Carolyn (Moses) Gloster, JoAnn (Tim) Long, Gwendolyn Reid and Tonie E. Reid; brothers, Tommie L. Ballard Jr., Michael S. Ballard, Jerry (Quentoria) Ballard, Terry D. (Charlene) Reid, Michael A. (Melinda) Reid, Felton L. Reid, Randy Reid, Barris (Tameka) Reid and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Monday, May 11 at Springfield Baptist Church with the Rev. W. J. Reid, Pastor, officiating.

Flower bearers and casket bearers were family and friends.
Services entrusted to Jones and Turner Funeral Home, Madison.
