NEW COUNTY BRIDGES IN DOT PLAN

Don’t worry about working out your detour routes just yet.
But be aware that the Georgia Department of Transportation has earmarked four Morgan County bridges for replacement in its long-term plan.
Currently, that means to look for those projects to happen over the next 5 to 7 years.
City has no plans for lay-offs

In a time of economic free-fall, you can never say “never.” But the City of Madison can say that it has no plans to lay off employees at this time, despite the regular news of other Georgia cities having to do just that.

The Morgan Memorial Hospital CEO search committee fielded nearly two dozen applications, but in the end it was interim CEO Brandon Jolley, at the hospital since late 2008, who received the offer of a 2-year contract.

March came in like the proverbial lion, with thunder, snow, wind advisories and freezing temperatures the order of the day on Sunday, March 1.
Snow began falling thick and fast just after noon, and quickly slicked the streets and furred the trees.
