EAST AVENUE SMASH UP

FENDER BENDER: A collision between a passenger car and an SUV last Friday in front of the Board of Education offices located on East Avenue backed up school traffic for nearly an hour and a half. The accident occurred at approximately 2:30 p.m. No one was injured during the crash, however both drivers were transported to Morgan Memorial Hospital for evaluations.

The Madison City Council unanimously approved a “transmittal resolution” Monday night that will send a draft version of a Capital Improvements Element (CIE) of a potential impact fee ordinance to the Northeast Georgia Regional Development Center (NEGRDC).

The Madison City Council took feedback at its regular meeting Monday night from local hoteliers who came to protest the city’s possible increase of Madison’s hotel/motel occupation tax.
