County orders steel for new jail

If the issuance of $16 million in bonds earlier this year didn’t make it official, now it’s official—the county has given project manager Ray McFadden the go-ahead to order $1.9 million worth of steel cells for the new county jail.
Closed for the Holidays

New hospital in 2010?

Morgan Hospital Authority members saw an initial presentation by Rick Earl and Todd Reichard of Earl Architects at a special called meeting last week, and learned that a new hospital could be up and running within two years.

Madison’s hospital in healthy financial shape

Accountants were on hand at a Morgan Hospital Authority meeting last Thursday to give their opinion of the overall financial health of the hospital.
In general, representatives from Draffin & Tucker, CPAs, said the hospital was performing fairly well.
Town Park progresses towards completion date

Downtown Development Authority (DDA) members think that they can see the park at the end of the tunnel, and that tunnel will open up this coming spring.
DDA member Joe Houston asked the $2 million question at the DDA’s regular December meeting Tuesday.
