BOE denies tax exemption

The Morgan County Board of Education Monday denied a request headed by Lance Pailer that would exempt seniors over the age of 65 from the school portion of the county's tax bill.
According to the board, the decision to deny falls heavily on the current economic status and the shift of tax burdens that would fall on other tax payers.
