Men’s golf misses chance at state tourney

    The Morgan County High School golf team’s hopes of advancing deep into the state play–offs were dashed last Wednesday as the team failed to finish in the top two at the region tournament.
    Morgan County finished fifth.

Diamond Dogs keep region hopes alive

    The Morgan County Diamond Dogs fought their way back into region contention last week with a 4–3 victory over region rival Hart County. The win placed the Dogs in the number four slot of the region and gave them a chance to compete in the state play–offs if they can muster a strong finish.

Pups Stay Perfect

    For the second time since it’s inception in 2004, the Morgan County Middle School boys soccer team completed an undefeated season last week.
    In the final game for the Bullpups, the team defeated the Westminster Academy high school JV squad 1–0.

Dogs drop last two

    A bounce here, a goal there and the Morgan County High School Bulldogs’ 2009 campaign could have been different, coach Chip Meyer said following the Dogs’ final contest against Stephens County last week.

Tennis teams advance

    Both the Morgan County High School boys and girls tennis teams have advanced to the state tournament with wins in the region tournament last week.
    Last Wednesday at Hart County the boys team defeated Eastside High School and the girls beat Elbert County High School 3–2.
