Lady Pups fall to Youth, Monticello

The Morgan County Middle School Lady Pups dropped two consecutive games last week to conference opponents, losing to Youth 21-15 Wednesday, then to Monticello 29-19 Friday.

The two losses moves the Lady Pups to 0-0 on the season, and puts them outside looking in on the Piedmont Athletic Conference playoffs.

Completing an 18 day lay-off, and complete with a full line-up of key players, the Morgan County Middle School Bullpups got back to their winning ways last week, defeating Youth Middle School 41-34 on Tuesday then shutting down Monticello 43-24 on Friday.

For the first time in the tournament’s eight year history, Morgan County captured, not one, but two titles in their own tournament, the SweetSouth Classic.

Both the Morgan County High School Bulldogs and Lady Dogs finished the Classic with 3-0 records,  en-route to winning their division’s championship game.

Matpups continue to impress as season closes

The Morgan County Middle School Matpups continue to impress, taking second place at the Heritage High School East Metro Invitational on Saturday, December 19.

A total of seven teams competed in the competition, and the Matpups missed a first place finish by only two points.
