Dogs squeak out 62-56 victory

The Morgan County Bulldogs capped a Monticello sweep last Saturday with a 62-56 victory.

The win was the Dogs second consecutive victory against a non-region opponent.

“We did not play as well as we would have liked to see us play, but an early win is a good win,” Head Coach Charlemagne Gibbons said.

Lady Dogs’ defense secures win, 64-47

For the second consecutive game, Kiasa Tiller drained a three pointer to start the game for the Morgan County Lady Dogs. And for the second consecutive game, they won going away by a final score of 64-47.

The win over Monticello moved the Lady Dogs to 2-0 on the young season.

JV squads capture wins

Both the boys and girls junior varsity basketball teams ran away with victories against visiting Monticello last Saturday.

The jv Lady Dogs opened play with a staggering 42-15 blowout win.

Averianna Dennis led the team with 13 points, followed by Ariel Williams  with 11 points from the bench.

Pups fall to Oconee

The Morgan County Bullpups lost their first game of the season last Monday to Oconee County Middle School by a score of 36-31. The loss moves Morgan to 2-1 on the season.

The Pups ended the game making only 13 of 63 shots from the field and five of 17 from the line.

Dogs drop final game to Oconee County

On the last Friday of the 2008 football season, Morgan County ended a tough year losing to neighboring Oconee County by a final score of 41-14.  The Dogs will not make a post season appearance for the first time since 1995, a string of 12 consecutive years.

Pups defeat Greene for Piedmont Athletic Conference championship

The life expectancy for the coaching staff, parents and fans of the Morgan County Bullpups has dropped over the past three weeks due to high blood pressure.

In their last three - win or go home games - the Pups have achieved victory by a total margin of six points. The last two games were won by one point each.
