Somewhere in my college experience, my academics hit a 10 foot high speed bump in the form of two afternoon classes. Coming back to the dorm exhausted, I couldn’t drag myself to class after lunch.

Mirroring Madison's bicentennial and the Cultural Center's portrait theme, Humane Society volunteer Donna Baddour decided that a pet portrait contest would be a fitting local celebration for this year's "National Be Kind to Animals Week." The week-long, animal-friendly event is held annually the first week of May.
