A Morgan County High School sophomore placed ninth in a statewide high school math competition.
This was the first venture into math team competitions for the school in many years, and the success will likely lead to more tournament entries next year.

The bicentennial edition of the annual Madison in May Tour of Homes drew an estimated 1,200 people to Madison and Morgan County last weekend, according to Madison-Morgan Cultural Center Marketing Director Patricia DuBose.
