DFCS reflects in April on rising child abuse claims

There will be 22 pinwheels in the front yard of the Department of Family and Children Services during the month of April. Each pinwheel represents a substantiated case of child abuse in Morgan County reported during 2008.

Red Door Studio to hold spring open house on Saturday, April 18

Red Door Studio in Rutledge will have its first spring open house this Saturday.
Molly Lesnikowski, the studio's owner, said she hopes some of the riders from the Bicycle Ride Across Georgia tune-up will join the event and see some local artisans.

New hospital under discussion at joint meeting

About a dozen representatives of the Morgan County Hospital Authority and Morgan Memorial Hospital met with county commissioners Tuesday to begin sharing information that hospital officials hope will eventually lead to an issue of $35 million in county-backed bonds for a new hospital.
