State-level decisions affect BOE budget

Decisions made at the state level have trickled their way down into the numbers contained within the Morgan County Board of Education’s operating fund, Morgan County Superintendent Dr. Stan DeJarnett informed the board in a financial report on Monday.

    Anyone inside the City of Rutledge who tampers with their water meter lock will be penalized.
    Rutledge City Council members agreed unanimously at their regular meeting Monday to raise the current $25 water meter lock tampering fee to $50 for a first time offender.

    April 1 is the deadline for citizens to “turn in” their property taxes; it is also the deadline for applying—or re-applying—for any tax-abatement programs for real property.

Hospital employees raise $85,000 for new facility

    As the Morgan County Hospital Authority aligns its ducks for a potential multi-million dollar bond issue in support of a new hospital, the employees at the current hospital have illustrated their support for a new building in a most tangible way.
