More than 300 served at community Thanksgiving

It's a labor of love - one that, this year, fed Thanksgiving dinner to more than 300 Morgan County residents thanks to the efforts of about 75 volunteers.

City considers alcohol penalty

Madison City Council members last week suspended the alcohol sales license of the Stop and Shop Mart at 2040 Eatonton Highway in Madison, after Assistant Police Chief Carl Jones reported to council that the owner of the store sold alcohol to an underage state Department of Revenue agent.
   

County gets clean bill of financial health

Morgan County auditors presented the review for the 2008 preliminary Fiscal Year at the commissioners’ regular meeting last week, and the county received a glowing report.
   

“The…audit is great,” said County Financial Officer Lynn Zachary.
