Morgan County Commissioners heard a presentation last week from a specialist regarding the evaluation of the fiscal impacts of land uses. Jeffrey Dorfman, of Dorfman Consulting, talked to the board about both the cost of county services and the currently controversial conservation use tax abatement program.

County commissioners are interested in learning specifics about the work force living here in Morgan, and accordingly plan to green-light a study helmed by the Northeast Georgia Regional Development Center that will tell local government exactly what kind of education and training local residents possess.
Evans man arrested after leading deputy on dangerous car chase

It took three days but Morgan County authorities, based on the address of a payroll slip, found and arrested a man in Evans who allegedly led a deputy on a dangerous high speed chase and stole a truck in Buckhead.
