After nine operations on my eyes for glaucoma, my sight keeps diminishing and the doctors say there is nothing more they can do. It looks like I am headed towards total blindness. This is a distressing thought that I have trouble accommodating. This poem is an attempt to show how I hope to cope.

Spring has sprung and the grass has begun to get green. When I got back home from a mini vacation things looked different around the house. Flowers began to sprout up, my tulips have budded and will be blooming soon. I am sorry I couldn’t be at our nursing home ministry.

Guests at Stokes-McHenry House

Mina Lujan, daughter Lea, with her husband Nando and three sons, Joseph, Isaiah and Noah, of Colorado Springs visited in Madison this week. They are staying at the Stokes-McHenry House. The three little boys are Dan Hicky’s great-grandsons.
