Jennifer Lynn Eckman and James William Evans

Jenifer Lynn Eckman formerly of Morgan County was given in marriage to James William Evans of New Brighton, Pennsylvania by her sons Patrick Ryan Childers, William Howard Childers, Jr, and Joshua Morgan Childers on Saturday, May 22, 2010 at 10:31 a.m.  The bride is the daughter of the late Melba Jean Simmons Eckman and the late James Eckman.  The groom is the son of Donna Bird Evans.

The wedding ceremony was held outside at Brady’s Run Park in Beaver Falls, PA.  The family was seated to the music of Natalie Cole “This will be an everlasting love”.  The attendant’s processional was to the song “It’s a wonderful world” by Louis Armstrong.  The bride was escorted down the aisle by her sons to “You’re the inspiration” by Chicago.  The couple and their children participated in the ceremony by having a unity sand ceremony to signify all of them becoming one family.  The children each poured different color sand into the jar, the groom poured Pennsylvania soil and the bride poured Morgan County red clay to symbolize their past and future as one family.  During the sand ceremony the couple’s song “Someone like you” by Van Morrison was played.  The ceremony ended with an Irish blessing and the recessional song “We are family” by Sister Sledge.  The ceremony had a very strong Irish influence to symbolize both bride and groom’s Irish heritage.  The couple was united in marriage by the Rev. Wayne Seamans.
