Bob McBride

Bob McBride, 85 of Madison, died January 12, 2013.  He was a native of Vidette, born March 23, 1927 to Robert and Mamie Jesup McBride.  He served in the United States Army for two years before going to work for the railroad.  Mr. McBride worked for 45 years for Norfolk Southern Railroad.  He was married to Frances Jackson on September 5, 1948.  They made their home in Madison where they raised their daughter, Vicky.  He was a long time member and deacon of Beacon Heights Baptist Church.  Mr. McBride enjoyed fishing and football.
Mr. McBride is survived by his wife of 64 years, Frances McBride and their daughter, Vicky Quillian (John), two granddaughters, Susan Norris (Phillip) and Laura Bouknight (Jeremy) and a sister, Grace Sulken (Richard).
The family received friends Monday from 6 – 8pm at A.E. Carter Funeral Home.  The funeral service was held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 15 in the chapel.  Interment followed at Madison City Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Richard Conner, Bruce Conner, David Jackson, Brent Rhoades, Noel Hawk and Keith Jones. Honorary pallbearers were Richard Jones, Richard Nunnally, Bobby Joe Hawk and Artis Peppers.

Vicky Lynn Lewallen Morrow

Vicky Lewallen Morrow, 57 of Madison, died Monday, January 7, 2013. She was born June 17, 1955 in Eatonton. She was a homemaker and a member of Faith Baptist Church. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and enjoyed quilting and embroidery.
Mrs. Morrow is survived by her husband James Morrow and her mother Janice Corley; a daughter Lynn Harp and Ken, a sister Sheila Wilbanks and two grandchildren, Christine Malcom and Makayla Malcom.
The family received friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday. The funeral service was held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Faith Baptist Church. Interment followed at Faith Memorial Gardens.

James Ricky McDaniel

James Ricky McDaniel, 55, of Bishop, died January 12, 2013. Born on December 30, 1957 he was the son of the late Lonis and Mary Shelton McDaniel and preceded in death by a brother, Donald McDaniel. He was a self employed contractor and a member of Ross Chapel Baptist Church. He will always be remembered for the love he had for his sons, daughter, brothers, sister, and grandchildren.
Survivors include his sons, James Douglas McDaniel and Clinton Bryant; daughter, Amanda Sue Hoyt (Bill); sister, Mary Lou Reynolds (Bennie) of Bishop; brothers, Thomas Lee "Tom" McDaniel (Janice) of Bogart, Lonie McDaniel (Jackie), Jimmy Lewis (Beckie), James Edward (Rosie), all of Madison; girlfriend Carol Smith; seven grandchildren, uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews.
The family received friends at the funeral home Tuesday, January 15 from 12 until 1 p.m. Funeral services followed in the chapel at 1 p .m. with the Rev. Justin Lee Baskin and Jacob Holt officiating. Interment was at Oconee Memorial Park.

Larry Donnell Howell

Larry Donnell Howell, 63, died December 18, 2012. He was born in Morgan County on November 3, 1949 to the late Willie and Bertha Carter Howell. He was a member of Holland Spring Baptist Church. He joined the United States Navy where he serviced his country for six years.
He is survived by his wife Brenda; three children Patricia (Eugene) of Covington, Toney (Vanesha) and Lucas all of Madison; one brother Nathan Howell and one sister Margie H. Thomas, all of Madison; eight grandchildren and three God daughters, Angela, Quanikker and Quangela; and an outpouring of nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
Funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Saturday Dec. 22 at Holland Spring Baptist Church with Rev. Randy LaGuins Eulogist with Rev. Fred Perriman reading the scriptures.
Flower ladies and pallbearers were members of the Class of 1968 at Morgan County High School. Honorary pallbearers were Jonathan Nelson, Jamal Casey, Andy Browning, Pledge Keeley, William Howell and Ricky Williams.

Brian (Big Bubba) Shields

Brian (Big Bubba) Shields, 41, of Apalachee died December 31, 2012. He was born January 21, 1971 in Atlanta. He was preceded in death by his mother Sandra Ray and a stepbrother Terry Ray.
Brian loved deer hunting and dirt track racing. He was admired by his nieces and nephews.
He is survived by his brother Ricky Shields and sisters Sherry Archer and Angie Helth and a stepbrother Bobby Ray and step-father Robert Ray; uncles Billy Jackson, Jimmy Jackson and Sonny Jackson and aunts Patsy Reed and Janice McWorters.
The funeral service was held January 3 at A. E. Carter Funeral Home. Interment followed at the Almand Cemetery.

Elizabeth (Liz) Malcome

Elizabeth (Liz) Malcome, 74 of Madison, died on January 3, 2013. She was born in November 1938 to the late William Baldwin and the late Jennie Baldwin.  She was preceded in death by her husband, the late Samuel Malcome, her sisters, Virginia Frost and Susan Newsome.
Surviving are: daughter and son- in-law: Virginia (Jennie) and Jorge Lopez of San Juan, Puerto Rico; son and daughter-in-law: Samuel and Mary Malcome of Madison; sisters and brother-in-law: Kathy Baldwin of Madison, and Jane and David Lopez of Moore, OK; brother and sister-in-law: Jim and Sarah Baldwin of Beaverton, OR; and six grandchildren.
